This is
simply a delightful selection for not only the younger set, but for us
oldsters who enjoy an animal's companionship. Enjoy
over an hour of great animal tales.
One of our personal favorites, this nostalgic DVD includes 6 movies which
illustrates the role animals play in our lives and their contributions.
Animals in Modern Life is a 11 minute, 1937 movie that starts with
prehistoric times and moves forward to the present discussing the
contributions animals have made to the life of modern man. Like the horse
making travel easier for man. How chickens, goats, and cows provide us with
milk, eggs and cheese. The movie provides insight to both young and old how
both man and animals co-exist and their importance to one another.
Billie the Buffalo Baby - Follow along with the star buffalo just after he
was born and see how he fits in with the other buffalo in the daily
activities that take place. The 1956 movie offers a wonderful educational
opportunity for both children and adults to learn about the role of the
Buffalo, and also how the native American culture also fits in. Wonderful
footage of native American rituals. The movie runs approximately 10 and a
half minutes.
The Hare & The Tortoise - Is a 1947 dramatized version of Aesop's fable
bringing it to life and starring lots of talking animals. In addition to our
hare and tortoise, we have the owl, a fox, a goose, a rooster, and a
raccoon. It's fun to watch the animals talk and set up the course for the
race. A must see for moms, dads, grandma, grandpa and the children. So grab
your popcorn and sit down for close to 11 minutes and enjoy the show (and
the race).
Mother Mack Trains Her Seven Puppies - This is the first part of a heart
warming story of how a wonderful dog raises her pups. It was so much fun to
watch the children with the puppies. One of my favorite parts is when the
boys and the puppies are at the beach and the puppies encounter a seal and
the antics that ensue. It's a wonderful story, but also offers a great
opportunity for some lessons on how children should take care of and treat
animals. The first part runs approximately 11 minutes. This first movie was
made in 1952.
Mother Mack's Puppies Find Happy Homes - Was done in 1953 and continues the
story of Mother Mack and her puppies and how they move on to loving homes.
Again, lots of great lessons to be learned on how children should treat
animals and how they interact with them. Plus the importance of who gets to
bring the puppies home with them, and the new homes they go to. Again a
heartwarming and wonderful movie that the whole family can enjoy.
Three Little Kittens - This touching movie from 1938 follows three kittens
from birth until they are old enough to help out on the farm. I loved
watching the antics of the kittens, and their mom showing them the ropes and
the trees of course. You will come away with a smile on your face and a
twinkle in your eye as you watch them frolic with one another.
All in all, a set of movies you'll want to
watch over and over.
Please note that the DVDs produced are done so with the
