Vintage How The Eye, Ear, Watch & Telephone Works DVD

Vintage How The Eye, Ear,
Watch & Telephone Works

For a small taste of this great DVD,
watch the preview below.

This great DVD will keep you entertained for almost an hour.

One of our personal favorites, this nostalgic DVD includes segments which illustrates how a watch works, how the ear works, how the eye works, and one of the most innovative explanations by Tommy Telephone who puts together all 433 parts of a rotary telephone and a great movie about how our eyes view the motion picture. This is simply a delightful selection for not only the younger set, but for us oldsters too.

How It Works Series - The five movies in this series offer a refresher to many of us and a wonderful educational opportunity for your children and grandchildren. All of these movies offer a great way for you to talk to your children about how certain parts of their body works, like the ears and eyes, how their hair grows, why some people are tall and some are short.

How A Watch Works (1949) - Offers a wonderful, informative, but easy to understand demonstration of the basic design and operation of a watch, including stop-motion animation showing a watch being assembled from many parts. The photography is crisp, clear and for kids who love to take things apart and put them back together fascinating. For 18 and a half minutes you will be mesmerized by the intricate workings of the watch.

How The Ear Functions is a fascinating 1940 movie that offers excellent animation and shows the structure and function of the human hearing system, all in only 11 minutes, but does so marvelously you will want more. You will be amazed at how the ear we so take for granted does so much; is so interconnected to other parts of our body; and how it can influence those parts.

How The Eye Functions - A beautifully animated 11 minute, 1941 movie that offers an excellent detailed explanation of the human eye and eyesight. You will be amazed at the animation and details shown in this wonderful, helpful movie that offers you and your children an opportunity to discuss their eyes. Why not combine the movie with a game. You can take several items out for them to look at and then have them describe what they saw to you after you put it behind your back.

Just Imagine - Is a 1947 movie with one of the most innovative explanations by an animated character in film history, Tommy Telephone. Watch him put together all 433 parts of a rotary telephone. I loved watching the animated Tommy show the man in the movie how he would get the "telephone" together. Wonderful animation, and you can also show the "techno" crowd of today how telephones were "back in the day". No redial, no call forwarding, text messaging, just think of all the discussions that will ensue after spending 10 minutes and 27 seconds watching this movie.

How You See It - A 1936, 8 minute film, which shows how our eyes view the motion picture. A great inside look into the motion picture industry. It offers wonderful insight into the process our eyes go through to make it possible for us to view what amounts to still images as the movies we do.

Please note that the DVDs produced are done so with the original film footage. We have deliberately left in all the slight imperfections which adds to the nostalgia, charm and wonder of these vintage DVDs.
