The Past Is A Blast

Dan Neil, of the Los Angeles Time, a Pulitzer Prize winning car critic said “The 1957 Bel Air had a finned exuberance and an expansive vibe that the ’07 Impala SS can’t touch. It was one of the great hot rod starter kits. But the modern Impala SS is a rocket ship compared to the Bel Air - way faster, better handling, better riding, quieter – you name it. People who are nostalgic for their ’57 Bel Air haven’t driven one lately”. Well Dan, maybe I haven’t driven one lately but I am a “child of the 50s” and I loved my finned cars with lots of “metal” around me. Somehow the 1970 Impala just doesn't make my feel like a 1957 Bel Air would. In fact, I would kill to get my first car back again, my 1962 Bel Air.
